Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX) said Monday on MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' that President Trump is "not welcome" to come to the town while they are in mourning. It is shocking to me that he is so utterly self-aware. And this is why from my perspective he is not welcome here. He should not come here while we are in mourning."
ZINGER OF A COMEBACK: Ms. Escobar is not the arbiter of who is and is not welcome anywhere other than her own home. Her statement is an expression of egotism, and of a type of self-righteousness that says, "If you don't agree with me there is something wrong with you." She needs to be reminded that she IS NOT such an arbiter, and that others can and will disagree with her for the simple reason that they start from different premises in drawing their conclusions, and with no greater or lesser rightness than her in most cases.
