Well, its happening. Following a week in which three mass shootings have occurred in the U.S., now even right-leaning publications are calling for draconian bans of an entire class of firearm.
Specifically, the New York Post, which we respect, is calling for POTUS Donald Trump to push for a reimposition of an assault weapons ban like the one Democrats pushed through during Bill Clintons first term in office.
The Post notes:
Two mass shootings within 24 hours in El Paso and Dayton, days after the Garlic Festival killings. Three months after Virginia Beach, six months after Aurora, nine months after Thousand Oaks, 10 months after Tree of Life, 15 months after Santa Fe HS, 18 months after Parkland and in the wake of larger horrors like the Vegas concert and Pulse nightclub massacres.

First they should tell everyone about said Assault weapons ,a very detailed one
This photograph shows why we have a Second Amendment.
Let’s ban running amok by crazy people who belong indoors.
Bring back the loony bins.
It doesn't show why it wasn't applied. It doesn't show what would have happened, if it had been applied.
If they don’t like people being shot, why don’t they pass a law against shooting people?
They've also resorted to using vehicles as weapons.
I was in London last year. They've installed concrete barriers on the bridges where pedestrians walk in an attempt to stop this from happening again.
We had the Boston Bomber use a kettle pot.
IF someone wants to cause carnage, they will find a way.
assault weapons ban
To the Democrats, any semi-automatic weapon is an assault weapon.
Older article, but I thought somewhat relevant. I read something earlier that somewhere in the Post article, the author made a comment ....
“The Supreme Court has ruled that the Second Amendment protects the right to own guns in common use. That doesnt cover the semiautomatic weapons regularly used only in mass shootings.”
How the AR-15 Became One of the Most Popular Guns in America .... https://www.usnews.com/news/national-news/articles/2017-11-07/how-the-ar-15-assault-rifle-became-one-of-the-most-popular-guns-in-america
inspired by Nazi infantrymen on the Eastern Front during World War II ... actually it was not inspired by the weapon used by Nazi infantryman on the Eastern Front during WW2. If I’m not mistaken, it was the Regular German Army that was doing all the fighting, while members of the Nazi Party, and its officers, were the SS types that didn’t get their hands dirty. And, the rifle that was based on the weapon of German soldiers was the AK 47, almost an exact duplicate.
Didn’t read their article, don’t care to. Until someone addresses the drug issue(honestly), the fact that kids today have no social skills, spend their days getting desensitized playing video games and always getting a trophy. Then reality hits them and they’re not special anymore and they can’t cope. Then we have these clowns..
Ban guns and they will develop a weapon even worse, that will be impossible to control.
Necessity is the Mother of Invention.
Always the case!
turning them in as well might be an idea worth considering.

The fact that those will never be turned if is the entire reason behind the 2nd amendment in the first place. That picture should be plastered all over the media every time one of these mass shooting loving political ghouls appears to tell us “turn in your guns, trust us”
Honestly, all the weapons bans, and new law proposals are just so much hot air. With 250 million guns already in circulation they will never get them off the street. Anybody willing to possess one, legally or otherwise. will always have that option.
The chilling truth however, is that the legal system has already enacted enough criminal and civil statutes to make it almost impossible to ever legally use a weapon you possess. The criminal, the mentally deranged, and the revolutionaries willing to suffer the consequences will continue to prey on the rest of us. The law abiding, however will be castrated by existing statute to confine gun use to home defense used against non-governmental intruders in very specific cases.
Exactly. And a MULTI Billion dollar black market would develop immediately.
BY DEFINITION, criminals don't obey the law. That's what makes them criminals. So if they don't obey the old ones, why will they obey the new ones?
We already have over 20,000 gun laws in this country. How will new laws help?
97 percent of mass shootings occur in gun-free zones, so the liberals' solution is to turn the entire country into a gun-free zone.
All of the interest in the beliefs of psychopath killers is just useless.
They are just plain nuts, and they are filled with rage.
Born that way, got that way, what ever......they are that way.
When we push back we just distract from that essential and commanding point.
They are and will always be, we’re better off making earthquakes illegal.
Now that Trump is President, mass shootings are down, and the Democrats have nothing else, now they push for gun control.
Not the way I remember it.
AG Eric Holder tried to undermine the 2nd Amendment with the Fast and Furious Scandal but ended up getting himself censured by the U.S. House, the 1st AG to do so.
POUTS #44 BHO EO'ed his way around the 2nd Amendment by blocking firearm ownership of senior citizens whose financial affairs were managed by others.
During his watch the UN, with U.S. SoS John Kerry's support, passed the ATT (Small Arms Trade Treaty).
I always wondered - who shot this picture? Is this a reenactment? Were there news crews on the Elian Gonzalez raid? Do any Freepers happen to know the background?
So let me see if I have this right. An “assault weapon” is anything pointed at someone with the person holding it intent on committing an assault.
So a toothpick, spoon, tampon, cigarette, comb, cake, pie, etc. etc. are all “assault weapons” and these people want to ban them.
Okie dokie.
