Actually, you were right to be a little skeptical about another Rosie Ruiz situation. There are news accounts that Zapata made a mid course refueling stop on a ship, so it was not a nonstop flight and merits an asterisk.
Still, 10-12 miles on a prototype over water is a good demo of the capabilities.
I watched the whole video, hoping to catch the landing. They didn’t show that. Until it’s splatterproof, I’m not on board.
Well no more digging tunnels or getting your feet wet to make your drug runs.
I never imagined drug mules would fly!
Lol. I agree.
Actually, flying 35 km in 20 minutes with a human-size load is already a demonstration of potential military capability in and of itself.
(By military, I mean special operations.)
Have to wonder about his whole video arrangments circa 1996. The GoPro failed? No cameras at the exact landing site? No promo guy expositing the set-up, the feat, etc? All he did was provide some b-roll for a 10-second bit.
I’m sure Red Bull will have the whole thing produced in a day or so.
