Far-right activist Laura Loomer announced her candidacy for Florida's 21st Congressional District in the 2020 election on Friday.
Loomer, 26, is registered to run as a Republican against the incumbent, Democratic Rep. Lois Frankel, according to a filing with the Federal Election Commission. Frankel represents a heavily Democratic district and did not face a challenger in 2018.
“The congressional seat is currently held by Democrat Lois Frankel, a staunch obstructionist and critic of President Donald J. Trump, and a close friend and ally of Speaker Nancy Pelosi," a press release from Loomer said. "Frankel, despite chairing the Democratic Congressional Women’s Caucus has refused to denounce Freshmen Democrat Reps. Ilhan Omar, AOC, and Rashida Tlaib for their anti-Semitism."
Karen Giorno, a Republican strategist, will lead her campaign. She was the Florida state director for President Trump’s 2016 campaign.
Loomer, who has promoted several conspiracy theories, has been banned on most social media platforms and made headlines recently for handcuffing herself to the door at Twitter's headquarters in New York. She has also engaged in anti-Muslim rhetoric

Laura Loomer is a far-right activist. Lois Frankel is not a far-left politician. Loomer has also engaged in anti-Muslim rhetoric and has been banned on most social media platforms. Social media platforms have hired people like East German ex-Stasi agent Anetta Kahane to remove offensive speech.
