And “God Bless America” is banned.
It is still sung here in Houston at the 7th inning stretch of Astros games.
Well, no.
The Yankees dropped Kate Smiths version.
Its still done most places. It was added after 9-11.
God Bless America is sung at (every?) Nats game during the 7th inning stretch. The Nats honor service members at every game. The Nats have in the past, at least, had “faith” night or some such thing, where Christian ballplayers on the team spoke after the game or at an event (I don’t remember the details).
When Daniel Murphy was on the team last year, his walkup music was a Christian song. This might also be true for other Christians on the team.
And yet, yes, the Nats have promoted LGBTQ night.
And the two (otherwise great) radio announcers had two of the women’s national soccer team in the booth during an inning and remarked about how great it was they were seeking equal pay or justice in pay or some such nonsense. But at least they didn’t bring up how great lesbianism is. But they did promote LGBTQ night.
So it’s mixed.
But not good.
