You're an idiot. Mr. GG2 had to draw down on two fleeing perps in our backyard a couple Saturdays ago. The cops were amazed. They loved it. 😆

What more is there to not understand? An identified police office legally permitted to carry & ignorant restraunt staff reacting to an open carry. While, a private establishment with a yah or nah on admission for any reason. Management is 80% at fault & 20% lays with the staff. No apology is acceptable in my books, the best boycott is going to the competition!

You are again using specific examples from your daily lives to contest a known, broadcast, repeated, long-standing generality.

I, too, associate with LEOs that think as I do, but none of us are so silly as to believe we are the "norm."

Police Departments nationwide advocate for gun control. It is, simply, a fact. There are a few exceptions, but it is a fact.

It is astonishing anyone could believe otherwise because "well, the other day, my cousin..." or because "you're an idiot, golux," or "well, let me tell you somethin''"or for any other reason.

God Bless all Police, the TSA, mall cops, and all who keep us safe at the slight expense of liberty and taxes. We are forever indebted to them, Our Heroes.

Walking around the courthouse lawn carrying a rifle for no purpose other than you can seems counterproductive to the cause....

Before Americans were regularly arrested by our government-badged overlords for "brandishing" (which means whatever you say it means, Mr. Police, Sir, if I may be so bold, Sir,) "walking around the courthouse lawn carrying a rifle" is precisely what we did all the time, and especially when we wanted to make a statement, before statements were "hate crimes," "threats," etc.

God Bless all Police TSA and Other Heroes in Badges and may we all keep our vehicles properly inspected.

What we DON’T like are idiotic rallies where dumbasses strap AR-15’s to their backs and stand around with Don’t Tread On Me flags.

Indeed. Nice of you to admit that you support the 2nd Amendment in theory, but not actually in practice. Of course, many of us already knew that.

Agreed ... somewhat. In a nation where you can be ordered to "bake the damned cake", I question how any business can exclude the practice of a Constitutional right.

Additionally, any business that has such a policy in place should also have to accept a much higher degree of responsibility for the personal safety of any customers. Eventually the difference in insurance rates that liability would entail would get rid of most of this foolishness.

Or it could be because you are just wrong. Most LEO’s don’t have a problem with civilians carrying guns. The ones that do get all the press.

Exercising a right simply to draw attention to yourself doesn’t mean anything. I have a right to free speech, that doesn’t mean I stand on the corner yelling at people. I have freedom of association, but that doesn’t mean I go around starting conversations with everyone I see. If there was a vote to ban semi-auto rifles or high capacity magazines I’d be the first one there. But holding a rally for no actual purpose diminishes the message you’re trying to get out there. It just becomes noise. And yes, it also invites the idiots on the other side to start trouble, vandalize, and whatnot.

Absolutely disagree. The fact that hoplophobes are stupid and evil doesn’t mean we shouldn’t exercise our rights any time we can, or want to.

That is the final argument on Free Republic. Just like "Bush is evil" (he was our hero yesterday,) etc., etc. You are right. I am sorry, Ma'am. May God Bless ALL those who keep us safe even if it costs us liberty. May they always secretly defy everything they have publicly stood for, as you say they do.

To be sure, I am "just wrong," and the paradox of "most LEOs" not agreeing with their public stance is something all good, obedient citizens should overlook. God bless them! Hail our Heroes. Thank you for setting me straight. I thank our heroes for keeping us safe.

It was only a wink of an eye ago, by the way, Freepers had seemingly unanimously read 1984 and Animal Farm and the Gulag Archipelago and Atlas Shrugged... And understood the positions our national police forces have always had, invariably have on armed citizenry. Now we seem more interested in screaming "USA! USA!" Left or right, one big tyrant is the same in the end as the other, and they thrive on a population that adores little baby tyrants.

The average cop on the street is just like anybody else. They don’t join up for the money or to grab your gun. Most join up because they want to help people.

I'm quite sure they don't join up to grab your guns, but if they are told to, they certainly will. A good example of this would be folks being charged while driving through NJ for having a firearm or even just a few bullets in their car.

I said most LE0’s do not have a problem with private citizens carrying weapons. I did not stray into the weeds to talk about state legislatures passing gun control bills. That’s a separate discussion.

Yeah. It's in the weeds, talking about aggressively enforcing obviously unconstitutional laws. /s

When they keep saying it is a mistake, I don't believe them at all. You know they still hate the cops and sorry they got caught.

Texas law states that peace officers or special investigators are allowed to carry their weapons in any establishment “serving the public, regardless of whether the peace officer or special investigator is engaged in the actual discharge of the officer’s or investigator’s duties while carrying the weapon.”

If it's a law, there should be a fine for first offenses and a couple days in a cage for second offense.

>>>the laws in relation to firearms on business premise<<<

If they had a Sign Posted saying No Firearms Allowed and the Police Officer in question was out of Uniform, they did nothing wrong.

As a Private Business they have that Right, even as stupid as it is.

If the Officer was wearing his Uniform at the time, no Bueno.
