Yeah he turned out to be a real Judas goat that guy - up until then I thought he was the only decent person in the senate - boy was I wrong.

Sessions situation is the opposite of Trump in one significant respect. When Trump ran for President, his credibility was hampered by having never been tested and proven in public office before. Sessions however, came to the AG job with a lifelong record of just that.
It was reasonable to think that improved his chances to perform honorably, but as they say with investments, “past performance is no guarantee of future results”.
