The Trump administration's new regulations, separating abortion from women's health services, has triggered at least two major abortion providers to reject federal funds rather than comply. Is Trump's legal-procedural approach -- rather than moralistic preaching -- succeeded where previous conservative efforts have failed? Will individual Progressive Americans step up to fill the funding gap so the abortion clinics can keep on carving?

I don’t pretend to know what it’s like to have an unwanted pregnancy.

I DO know what it’s like to take care of an elderly relative and it’s BRUTAL and you can’t give them away after 9 months.

Wow what a headache remover if you could just have them put to sleep.

Or a sick child. What a pain!

Sick spouse? Who has time for it.

YES, this is all sarcasm.

Though I fear one day it might not be

I too have taken care of an ailing grandmother and I take care of a handicapped sister ... I hear your sarcasm.

I guess folks who don’t kill those that need them most love them more than we love our comforts.

Which kinda brings us back to the Left....

Yeah it does.

The STUPID thing is it seems sick to me to kill anyone who is defenseless or sick or just causing trouble, but I HAVE felt like a burden at points in my life.

I am 51. 30 years of those I gave my poor mom heck.

I asked her if she regretted having me and she said “are you nuts!?!?”

It was a stupid question to ask her.

I guess folks who don’t kill those that need them most love them more than we love our comforts.

Was at a fast food restaurant just today. I watched from a table nearby two middle-aged parents bring in for lunch their adult son who appeared to be severely autistic. The son was a full grown man, but had some palsy and was quite verbally limited except for unintelligible (to me) sounds. Mom and Dad brought him his food, and he was very excited. I watched the Father smile, and gently stroke his son's hair like his boy was a newborn and he was the proudest Dad on earth. Made me want to cry

I will give them another chance closer to the election. The MO of saboteurs is timing. Lure in support then give logical arguments for them to stay home.

In England...under the NHS (National Health System) it's called "The Liverpool Pathway"

A quick trip from ward to morgue

Supposed to be cancelled.

The Liverpool Care Pathway for the Dying Patient (LCP) was a care pathway in the United Kingdom (excluding Wales) covering palliative care options for patients in the final days or hours of life. It was developed to help doctors and nurses provide quality end-of-life care , to transfer quality end-of-life care from the hospice to hospital setting.

What went wrong? In some hospitals patients on the LCP have had wonderful care in their last weeks and days, but in others some of the staff have misunderstood the guidance. Training has been inadequate. There have also been some shocking stories about lack of compassion on the part of nursing staff. Busy hospitals have focused on treating patients who should recover at the expense of helping those who will not experience a good death. Why were patients denied food and drink and put on strong painkilling drugs that made them unable to communicate with their families?

Some hospital staff wrongly thought patients might inhale fluids and choke. Others wrongly thought it was standard practice to withhold fluids and nutrition on the pathway. Some patients were put on syringe drivers to deliver constant pain relief even though they did not need it.

I had to look it up.

I’m freaking sick to my stomach.

Like a dark BBC movie.

Thanks for letting me know such a horrifying entity exists.

Looks like it’s being phased out.

Dying of thirst. SMH

Supposed to be cancelled.

However, doctors who led criticism of the pathway say new draft guidance, seen by the Daily Telegraph, outlining a replacement scheme will perpetuate many of its worst practices, allowing patients to suffer days of dehyration, or to be sedated, leaving them unable to even ask for food or drink.
