Occam’s razor has been quite useful all along.
Cummings once struck fear in squishy GOP hearts because he was the ignorant mouthpiece for the Dem narrative du jour. But at least he tipped their hand because he lacked guile.
Trump is signaling that he doesn’t fear Cummings and the people aligned with Cummings including Nadler et al. Cummings is also quite frail now and using a walker and then there is the small matter of his wife’s dirty dealings which Trump no doubt knows of.
The media hens keep clucking and never stop to notice that Trump has taken the news cycles completely out of their hands. Yes Russiagate is over 3 years old but the media have been unable to catch their breath long enough to conjure up another pseudoscandal. His tweets are a week apart, usually and purposely. Note that the last cycle involving the harpies in The Squad is already over despite all the hand wringing. Now it’s Cummings’ term. But, as above, he’s old, tired and foolish. He has no dea what to do because he’s been kept in a bubble. The Dem leadership are telling him to play the victim so he is. But he can’t suppress the reality and footage of his war zone district. At least The Squad had the excuse of being freshmen.
Trump is desensitizing the electorate to the tactic of victimology. He will continue to highlight Dem failures and Dems will continue to squeal and moan but it will become background noise. By the time his campaign opponent is nominated everyone including media will be sick of woe-is-me. He is also signaling that he doesn’t fear taking on women, blacks, or religious minorities.
The lessons are obvious to anyone who wants to learn. But that obviously doesn’t include the set in their ways DC Dems.
