A trail of death and destruction for his entire life but karma wins in the end.

Prayers for the other victims.

If not because of what he did when he was 11, the ‘news’ about his death would have appeared only in the obituary page of his local paper, and perhaps not at all.

The Law. When he and his friend shot up their school, he was 11 years old. Arkansas law at the time had no provision for certifying kids his age as adults. So he and his friend were tried as juveniles. Also according to law, they were released on their 21st birthdays. They were allowed to change their names and and their juvenile records were sealed (just like the ‘Gentile Giant’ of Ferguson.

Turns out he was living within 10 miles of me.

Not cruel to kill a baby before it’s born, but cruel to put to death a psycho 11 year old mass murder!

FWIW—If one reads the article, it sounds like the other driver was the one at fault.

Well, it certainly seems so at first blush. But what age do you set to say, “this kid is too young to be judged as an adult?” There was a youngster, maybe 7 or 8 who threw a kid out a high window. The law in that state required he be sent home. He was too young to even be entered in the juvenile system.

Many years ago I taught at a “youth center”—juvenile prison. In my 2 1/2 years I had two murderers. One had done the deed at 13. Under MO law at the time, he could only be charged with “delinquency”. We were under constant pressure to release him, and had to justify not releasing him, since state policy was ‘kids’ shouldn’t be locked up more than a year.

After horrific events like the Arkansas case, many states lowered the age that juveniles could be certified as adults if they committed serious crimes. For a while street gangs recruited youngsters to do hits because they knew they they would spend little time behind bars.

I have no doubt that Arkansas authorities would have loved to have charged the two killers (they had meticulously planned and executed their crime) as adults, but their hands were tied by the laws as they were written when the crime occurred. There is the Dickens quote “The law is a ass”, but there we are.

Can an 11 year old child be held responsible as an adult. No. Does God hold an 11 year old child responsible? Not likely since 13 is generally considered the age when responsibility hits. A very tragic story from start to finish. I just hope he was able to try and get straight with the Lord before his soul was demanded. I also pray for the families of the dead hoping they have been able to move on with some sense of closure.

Just like the two demons who murdered little James Bulger. After their release, one was found to be homosexual and the other had child porn.

There’s no “seems” about it. Juveniles today are actively recruited to commit crimes by adults, because they aren’t prosecuted. The kids know they are untouchable, basically. It is a perversion.

We had two very young “Amish” in NJ who murdered a young white girl and stuffed her into a recycle bin. This was about seven years ago. The one actually charged was 15. He will certainly be out of prison soon and nobody will know because NJ is FREAK state.

Thinking back to when I was 11 I recall that I was absolutely, utterly, clueless regarding just about everything.I certainly didn't kill anyone at 11 (or any other age) but I wonder if an 11 year old can be held fully responsible of any crime he might commit. As for God....He surely knows what was in this kid's heart as well as how morally "responsible" He finds the kid to be.
