If I were ever charged with a “hate crime” I’d ask for what the legal definition was. To my understanding there isn’t one. How can I know what the boundaries are? At what point does art become “hate speech”. Surely this falls under free speech???

Tagline...

Wow, I was there a few years ago and it looked so much better than when I was there for earlier reunions. Really disappointed to hear that. I’m due for my 40th next year.

Art is “hate speech” if it attacks any group or thing favored by the left.
Art is fine art if it attacks any group or thing favored by the right.

"12-year-old responsible for swastikas"

If 60 is the new 40 then maybe 32 is the new 12.

“What they have done to Auburn, Geneva, and many other places where there are “correctional facilities” NYC sends the family to live there because “dad” is doing “20 to life”. NYC pays to have them moved, for several reasons of which it is the lower cost of living, and proximity to the jail for visiting day.”

Where are you getting your information from?

Most people visiting are coming from a long ways away. Prisoners are moved around the state quite often so there would be little reason to relocate near them as they can be moved without warning. What the state WILL do as a reward for good behavior, is try to move a prisoner to a prison closer to his hometown so as to minimize the inconvenience to his family.

The jails are not the reason for towns going to hell. People like to say that the prisons in Elmira are why it deteriorated. Really? This is NY State. TAXES killed your towns. Auburn has had a prison for well over one hundred years, and so has Elmira. They were NOT always crap holes. The prisons aren’t your problem. And the convicts are put on buses and sent back to where they came from when released. If you want to get rid of welfare scum you need to get rid of welfare.

If you lose the prisons in these towns, they will get much worse as people who had good paying jobs leave. Yes they are Government jobs but they have to be somewhere. You might as well benefit from them being in your area.

Looking for scapegoats merely prevents identifying the real problems.

This will most likely turn out to be a false flag. Geneva is just an hour’s drive away from Tompkins County and Cornell University that is experiencing a booming crime rate due to their Uber Libs in charge

Swastikas are easy to draw. All straight lines.

You’d think so, but it really hard to draw a good one. Students for many years have tried carving in desk tops etc. They nearly always do a poor job of it.

Hitler was no slouch when it came to choosing it for his party’s symbol. It is very ancient (you see loads of them in Buddhist temples in Japan) and it almost asks to be drawn. The fact that it makes adults recoil is even better as far as a kid is concerned.

I taught 12-year olds for many years. They have no more idea of the Holocaust and the Nazis than they do of French literature. Hate crime—give me a break.

I lived in Auburn NY for 42 years. I know fully well that NYC was dumping their welfare/prisoner families in town. It was discussed at the school board meetings on how they were going to deal with these kids who were not even remotely civilized and were wreaking havoc in the Auburn City Schools. The city council was unhappy with the dumping because of the problems in the community. Cayuga County didn’t care they were collecting more from NYC that they were paying out so it was a revenue source.
