Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., expressed support for the "decolonization process" of Puerto Rico following the announced resignation of its embattled governor, Ricardo Rosselló.

In an Instagram livestream on Thursday night, Ocasio-Cortez took questions from her followers. The first asked how she felt about what's happening in Puerto Rico.

"First of all, I am so incredibly proud of everyone in Puerto Rico right now demanding accountability from their government," Ocasio-Cortez began. "They were so relentlessly creative in their protest that they were able to get the governor to finally resign as well as some of his cabinet members."

Ocasio-Cortez, who is of Puerto Rican descent, then suggested the island’s independence from the United States.

Wow — I’ve found something with which AOC and I are in agreement.

I agree; however, the vast majority of the populace of PR do NOT want to be their own country/independent!

WHY?

Because they want to keep feeding off the American tax payers!

And neither do they want statehood...for the same reasons!

Every single time each of these propositions are brought up for a vote, each gets voted down; which has been an ongoing things for more decades than I can remember.

Yeah sure. Let’s start by moving every US company including all the pharmaceutical industry out. That will really help the people of Puerto Rico! /s

I’m pretty sure all of these Puerto Rican politicians that are resigning are liberal, incompetent buffoons such as herself.

Okay, decolonize. Yes, send ALL Puerto Ricans back to Puerto Rico and give them all independence from the US. Good Riddance.

AOC stole $1 million from her campaign right away and squirreled it away in a LLC where the voters cannot see how much money from bribes etc she has received.
She would fit right in, in Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico’s economy is worse than Honduras. Independence will turn it into a Cuban or Russian colony. Oh, wait, AOC is working for the communists. Never Mind

Letter to Spain.

Please take Puerto Rico back. We will pay you for your efforts. Take Cuba back also. Big bucks to follow if you are this stupid. Unfortunately you are not stupid.

She has a knack for represneting the Bronx. Meanwhile she is dreaming of little Cuba in Puerto Rico. That would be one pretty sight to see.

OK, so maybe Trump wasn’t too off base asking why she doesn’t return to where she comes from, if she identifies as a Puerto Rican and wants independence?

Let me ask you a question...

If the President and US Government told Puerto Rico that all of its debt, to the penny, would be canceled, but:

It is no longer a Commonwealth of the United States .... it’s people are no longer considered US Citizens ... those that left the island after the hurricane, moved to Florida and are currently growing roots there, with no sign or desire to ever return to the island, are not US citizens and have to go back ... and they are forever an independent country

Would you be okay with that? I damned sure would.
