That makes it sound like people feel free to lie to an IG as long as no one else is going to look his shoulder and do their own investigations. Isn’t an IG as much a Federal agent as any other? IOWs isn’t it a felony to lie to an IG?...I think a special prosecutor or whatever Durham's title is has lots more power than an IG - I don't think an IG can talk to people who've left employment unless they voluntarily come in to be interviewed, and I don't think an IG has subpoena power or the ability to empanel a grand jury - I would imagine people feel there's less chance of being found out or held accountable with an IG than with a whatever Durham is.......

All true but none of that answers whether or not it’s a felony to lie to an IG. One answer I got was that it is.

In any case, everyone who talked to him who now want to come in and revise their statements must have been DoJ employees when Horowitz originally talked to them if not now.
