Puerto Rico has about $75B in bond debt. I don’t think they can even pay the interest. This was a big issue a couple years ago, but don’t see much about it anymore. I guess the US taxpayer is taking care of it now. Puerto Ricans should be eating grass by now. As long the US taxpayer keeps covering for them, they think their government is just fine. I’ve read the PR retirement system is bankrupt also. I imagine the US taxpayer will get this shoved down their throats also.

I know. Another example of why just giving money away did not necessarily work.

No, we in PR are now stuck with an 11.5% sales tax for the next forty years to pay that off.
