California is moving toward an all-out rat poison ban statewide. AB-1788 cleared the State Assembly earlier this summer. But the problem with the ban is that some California cities are being overrun by rats.

A good Cage movie.
Solved only by a tax.
LOL
“someone in California government thinks that this will solve the homeless problem.”
It might actually help in that it will lead to the conclusion that “tough love” needs to be applied to immigrants and potential immigrants.
I wonder if europe at the time of the Black Plague had stupid people who banned killing rats?
California Democrats are nostalgic for the Dark Ages.
The calis really have a great set of “leaders”. These pied-pipers of destruction just go on and on. Nothing these malignancies do surprises me. Thank God I don’t live there.
You forgot Bubonic Plague!
no rat poison because homeless might be eating the critters?
What did they ban?
It has been my understanding for years, major cities just use Vitamin K bate to kill rats... It kills rats, but is harmless to humans which is why it is used.
Eh? I think Vitamin K is an antidote to anti-coagulant poisons. You may have been thinking of Vitamin D3. More info. here:
Oh believe me, there is concern. In my Next Door group, there are frequent posts regarding illegal activities in areas where there are homeless encampments. Peeking over fences, drug use, defecation, breaking into yards and garages, and just general odd behavior, in alleyways, doorways, behind businesses, behind dumpsters, in the middle of the street and on sidewalks. In will chime the bleeding heart, how can you be so cruel, you could be in the same situation, they are still people, still human beings, etc. Never mind the activities in residential areas, by schools, churches, grocery stores etc.
The city has taken a hand off approach. They cleaned out some encampments about 15 years ago and got sued to the gills.
Recently a homeowner reported repeatedly trash and debris left by some squatters in the alley behind their house. The city response was that the homeowner must clean up the mess themselves or be fined!
Maybe.. I just know it was some vitamin that basically was deadly to rats, but harmless to humans and pets, at least in the doses used
