True but that doesn’t mean much to someone living month to month when the reimbursement comes a year or two later.

I can’t believe the workers didn’t know the company was in trouble months before.

Too many people willy nilly live month to month. There’s no call for the vast majority not to have put back a little something every month. If you can’t afford more kids, then put on a condom. If you can’t keep the electricity on or pay the rent, then you don’t need 4 phones. You don’t need a new double cab truck. You don’t need to go to the beauty shop for weaves or fake nails or even hair cuts. You don’t need any new clothes and you certainly don’t need a huge walk-in closet that is as big as a house. No, you don’t need to stop off at the bar after work. No, you don’t need to see the latest movie the second it hits the screen. No, you don’t need to party every weekend. Stay home and play with the kids instead. Anyone with two brain cells can change the oil and for those who can’t do basic costly home repairs, there is youtube. Wise up, no one needs a fancy store bought birthday cake when a Duncan Hines mix will be just as good.

Cutting back and sticking to a budget isn’t hard. A guy, who had a decent income, was looking for extra jobs here because his wife kept buying everything she saw so he couldn’t pay the utility bills. That’s ridiculous. He needs to put a stop to that or she should get a job and use that money for all the extras.

There is NO excuse not to pay in full the basic bills and to put back a little before something happens to that paycheck. Make a deal with the landlord to paint the house in lieu of the rent. Mow the neighbor’s yard so you’ll have enough to fill the tank to get to work.

Canned vegetables cost 50 cents so throw in a few extra each time and the pantry will never be empty. Learn to combine your errands to save time and gas. Learn simple sewing skills so you can mend the clothes you already have. Stay away from restaurants and make cheaper and healthier meals at home. Pack a lunch from home. That trip to the drive thru window at Schlotsky’s will cost $7 for one of their original sandwiches but making 6 of those sandwiches with a clone bun recipe (practically no time) will cost the same and the whole family will be fed. That $5 burger at the burger joint can be made five times over at home and, again, the whole family is fed. That’s examples of little every day things that bust budgets. It isn’t rocket science to do a little prepping for the kids’ sake.
