Jim, I think that they are past the point of no return. As you say, they have “embrace(d) and coalesce(d)” around the worst, most divisive policies and platforms possible to imagine and I believe are alienating their base.
I don’t think that there is anyone else besides Trump with the fortitude to stand up to these demons.

There isn't a person on this board who wouldn't be acting like Trump, yet he alone is in their faces. It's no wonder we're screwed.

They could follow Kamala's example and backpedal. In fact, winning the primaries and then moving back "to the center" is a standard strategy. McGovern in 1972 forgot to do that.
