It is up to the Senate to try the case. Then two-thirds of the Senate on the impeachment vote. I can’t see it happening, no hope. This is just theater to smear our favorite guy.
There doesn’t appear to be a clear Constitutional requirement for the Senate to take up an Impeachment bill from the House.
It’s possible they can table it. The political risks of doing that are not clear.
