They were booth attending North Dakota State University at the same time. I think he started the year after she did. He was listed as a British citizen when they married. You get reduced tuition if you are a resident of Minnesota. It might have to do with reduced tuition or tuition aid. They divorced right around the time he graduated.

The story is incomplete without the info about why she married her brother. It was to commit welfare fraud. He needed this marriage in order to stay in the USA. I am not certain about all the details, but Scott Johnson at powerlineblog.com has written extensively on this subject.

Except he went to school in Minnesota. Pic of him in the year book. Same birth dates. Looks like him. Fellow students said Omar’s father was said to be his dad.

So he was a resident.

There is no doubt in my mind this was fraud of some kind.

Just want to note that part of my job entails examining documents that prove/demonstrate identity, and I’ve learned it’s surprisingly common to find many people in the US sharing the same name, DOB, and even last 4 digits of SSN. Even all of that still doesn’t definitively establish identity.

But adding one more factor to that list—such as address and certainly full SSN—does.
