So, IFL Science, a site that claims to be science based, employs a failed humor/comedy writer and political blogger with no science credentials, to “peer review” actual scientific papers. Sounds legit.

I’ve never heard of the site before. It was interesting to see that no one on the site seems to have any academic credentials listed.

It reminds me of “I’m not a doctor but I play one on TV.”

You’re right, you can’t “peer review” anything if you aren’t a peer.
