Early in his career, Jim Messina was in Buffalo Springfield at the tail-end of that group.

My favorite Poco tracks are “Rose of Cimarron” and “Heart of the Night”.

Poco’s first bassist was Randy Meisner who left to join the Eagles. Poco replaced him with Timothy B Schmidt.

When Meisner left the Eagles, they replaced him with TBS.

Hell of a time to live in SoCal when those guys were just getting started and the Troubadour was just a small local club...and 10 minutes from my apt.

You’re a lucky guy!

I got to live in LA for six months, when I was six years old. Santa Monica. I loved it. Walked to school and back every day, had to cross a few streets. No problem. Carried my little lunch box.

Everything in Los Angles seemed brand new, to my eye. I thought it was so beautiful. Sounds of jet planes were everywhere, it was like living in the future.

Long time ago. 1960, into 1961. Then we left, but I never forgot it.
