Shortly after Ghislaine Maxwell arrived in New York from England in the early 1990s, she was looking for a new start. She had just lost her father, a British media mogul, along with much of her family fortune and her social standing. Soon she was on the rise with the help of her new boyfriend, Jeffrey Epstein, a rich financier. It was the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship. With Mr. Epstein, Ms. Maxwell was able to resurrect the lifestyle she coveted.

I imagine what she was mostly doing was lining up willing party girls to ply their trade. She and Epstein were indifferent to the legal age of consent and that has drawn them into legal jeopardy, but most of these girls knew what they were doing. There may have been a few who were naïve enough not to understand what they were being recruited for. There were likely others whose lives were in sufficient disarray that they were desperate and easy prey. Girls and young women in the latter two categories would be victims, but I'd guess that they are a small minority. Most of Epstein's girls were engaged in a fully conscious transactional relationship.

Stop to think about the numbers. Hundreds of girls cycled through Epstein's properties over the years. A handful have come forward to complain. Epstein's behavior could not have continued for so many years unless most of the girls were willing participants.

On a related note: this morning’s Muhammed Ali thread brings Chappaquiddick back to mind. The Swimmer’s beach getaway “mentoring” session included six attractive, single, 20-something girls and six middle aged, married men, all of whom somehow left their wives at home. No offense, but I think what you present here is the next-level defense of Epstein — this is all just fun and games and prostitution between willing people. No big deal.

I would disagree with that. I think what we are mostly looking at is murder, sex slavery, and child sacrifice to Satan.

But the media will try to avoid “going there” and will try to push the narrative that these were just prostitutes who were — you know — a little on the young side. I’m not buying that.

I agree. Child prostitution is a dirty thing and should be severely punished. But that doesn't mean that the girls don't know the score. And a lot of Epstein's girls were of age. I'm not defending Epstein; I'm just saying this was a sleazy business all around.

I have no idea how common this sort of thing is. Hugh Hefner built his brand around it, though Hefner seems to have been very careful about legal age. Once in awhile, the participants or their fixers get careless and we get a glimpse of the sexual zoo in Hollywood or in the bigtime sports or entertainment worlds. There is a lot of ugly stuff out there.

It's probable that poor little Ghislaine was a talent spotter who was sent to NYC to use Epstein, whose little kink could be turned into an incredible multi-national honeytrap operation with just a few billion untraceable dollars.
