When it became obvious that Nazi Germany was not going to conquer Russia and arrive on the Indian border, the Nazis arranged to have him transferred to Japan. Bose took command of the Indian National Army, a Japanese puppet, and fought against British and Indian troops in Burma and the short-lived but bloody invasion of Manipur State in India. He refused to surrender with the INA and arranged for the Japanese to transfer him to Manchuria. He intended to go to the Soviet Union to offer his services, as he (correctly) believed they would turn against the British. He died of wounds sustained in a plane crash in Taiwan.
Bose collaborated with some of the most criminal regimes in history out of his hatred for the British. Still, radical elements in India have somewhat rehabilitated him there. If Bose is a role model for AOC and her staff, it means she is willing to collaborate with the worst of America's enemies to try to take down America as we know it.
