Senator Cory Gardner released a statement today announcing the Bureau of Land Management will be relocating to Grand Junction.
Today is a historic day for our nations public lands, western states, and the people of Colorado, said Senator Gardner. Relocating the Bureau of Land Management to the Western Slope of Colorado will bring the bureaus decision makers closer to the people they serve and the public lands they manage. The problem with Washington is too many policy makers are far removed from the people they are there to serve. Ninety-nine percent of the land the BLM manages is West of the Mississippi River, and so should be the BLM headquarters. This is a victory for local communities, advocates for public lands, and proponents for a more responsible and accountable federal government.

Grand Junction is on the western slope - it’s not Denver or a bit like it. Nice town - my great-niece attends college there. Nice people there. I just hope the DC transplants, if many even go, don’t ruin it.
You are sooo correct.
I would add the U.S. Forest Service as well. All lands managed by the federal government should be returned to state management.
And I say this as a state land lease holder, which I manage as if it was my own private property; in other words, it is managed better than if under government control...state or fed.
It will be interesting to see how many of the bureaucrats won’t move out of DC. (I doubt they will quit, just find another nest to feather)
“Are there even any black people IN Grand Junction CO?”
According to City Data, there are 259 blacks, which is 0.4% of the population.
too bad the article didn’t mention that BLM headquarters was moving from DC, and what the other options were ....
REALLY glad it’s not going to Utah (which was disappointed: slap in a face to Romney, plus may help Trump to try to flip Colorado ...
I’ve been wanting to make a trip there for a few years. Located on the Colorado River, with roughly two dozen wineries in the area. That drive along Interstate 70 is as beautiful a ride as there is.
All alphabet agencies should be relocated to North Dakota.
Going to be a lot of BLM employees who are unwilling to move.
I doubt it. They can sell their beltway area houses and buy opulent property in Grand Junction. Colorado is a blue state and they will be right at home politically. The vast majority will move.
The commiefornians are already doing a good job of that.
Holler if ya make it! I'm full of Grand Junction historical info. Lol
Many of their families will not want to move, especially if kids are still in school. Those who can retire likely will or leave their families in the D.C. area if they can retire in 1-2 years. That, or try to fund another job in D.C.
It won’t happen and Cory Gardner will look like a fool. The democrats control the committee that will fund this, and Cory has not gotten their blessing.

Still think you can drain the Swamp?
I dont want those leftwad DC scum coming here.
My mom born there, parents met and married there. Great real American town.
My Ex-wife is from Grand Junction, you can keep it.
I was thinking that myself.
Same here with West Slope info. And contrary to the East Slope Polesitter, this is MAGA country!
Clearing out the swamp and dead wood!
Thank you, President Trump And Mr. Zinke!
