However. Islam has in practice not been practiced the same by all Muslims, etc

that shows to me that you fail to understand the underlying precepts of Islam - ‘practice’ has nothing to do with anything and certainly nothing to do with belief. Islam is NOT comparable to any other system of belief - Islam is Islam - one either practices the ‘true faith’ based on the last words (the Second Given Half) or are an apostate. Saying otherwise is taqiya and believing otherwise is just foolish.

Following in Mohammad’s footsteps is the highest calling in Islam - and those footsteps echoed to the cry of “Kill kill kill” for over 400 captives Mohammad personally beheaded. Mohammad was not Christlike in any sense.

I do not fail to understand the underlying precepts of Islam. As I already said - I think it is a false religion. Well so is the Communism of Communist China. They have never really even reprented Chinese nationalism, they just hijacked it and slaved it to their own ends, just as the Mullahs in Tehran hijacked Persian nationalism to theirs.

But just like different groups of Christians and different groups of Jews, Buddhists, ect. not all Muslims have always taken the same approach to the “underlying precepts” of their faiths either. Yet, you wrongly assume there is no differences in how different Muslims maintain or do not maintain a fundamentalist approach to Islam.

Actually, until this modern era and the growth of the radical fundamentalists coming out of Arab dominate lands, Islamic fundamentalism could be seen in diminishing circles the further away from the homeland of Islam you looked. In places like Indonesia and even north in Persia (minus the modern Shia fundamentalists there) Islam was practiced more in a syncretic manner with a mixture of older local religious beliefs. By the end of the Ottoman era, Persia was way more secular minded than either Turkey or any of the Arab states. Khomeini and his gang are really a throwback to a much earlier era.

Yes radical fundamentalists are at an apex of the adoption of their style of Islam today, and they may even be “more true” to sixth century Islam. But it is an error to think they represent all Muslims today, anymore than the Vatican represents all Christians or Orthodix Jews represent all Jews.

Replacing the Uighurs with the Communist religion is not a win win for anyone but the Communist Party of China.

“Mohammad personally beheaded. Mohammad was not Christlike in any sense.”

That is a straw argument. 1. I never denied such things about Mohammend. 2. The Chinese Communists murdered close to 100 million Chinese AFTER they beat the nationalists. 3. They enforce their religion with no less brutality than ISIS. 4. The Uighurs do seek to expand or to expand Islam where as the Communist Chinese have always been trying to suppress any other belief system but their own. THAT is not about “saving China”. It’s just about preserving control by the Communists.
