As to what disease the girl may or may not have had, obviously that was not reported in any of the news coverage, because no one on the thread mentioned it, including you.
Like I said before, there should be punishment, but the actual disease and the risk of contagion needs to be taken into account, too.
By the way, have you ever noticed that most doctors and nurses pick up and reach into the tongue depressor jar with ungloved hands?
