The use of the numbers for apportionment of Congressional districts is a whole different matter. In addition to US citizens, we have at any one time 15 to 20 million legal permanent residents (green card holders) who have all the rights and benefits of citizens save voting. IMO they should be included in the apportionment of Congressional districts. Regardless, there will be a huge legal fight that would go to SCOTUS to settle who should be counted for that purpose.
The most important outcome of the Trump attempt to get a count is transparency. We dont know how many illegal aliens there are in this country and where they live. Our USG databases should give us a fairly accurate estimate. The public will be surprised by the numbers.
In a state like CA, the illegal population provides the state with 3 to 5 additional Congressional seats. When you look at individual districts like Maxine Waterss district, you will see far lower vote totals compared to the average totals nationally. This is largely a function of fewer citizens living in her district. The Brits had a name for such districts. They called them rotten boroughs.
nothing you say means to me illegals will not be included.
There is only one solution to illegal aliens. Keep them from stepping on our soil and deporting the ones here. It would take 25,000 more soldiers using less than lethal force, but it can be done.
