(WASHINGTON) The House Judiciary Committee voted Thursday to authorize subpoenas for 12 people mentioned in special counsel Robert Muellers report, including President Donald Trumps son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and former Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
The panel also voted to authorize subpoenas for documents and testimony related to Trumps handling of immigration, including on the separation of migrant families at the southern border. The resolution authorizes an investigation into whether there have been any discussions of Trump offering pardons to Homeland Security officials who work on immigration issues.
Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler of New York will make the final decision about issuing the subpoenas and has said they can be avoided if witnesses and the administration cooperate voluntarily.
The vote was 21-12.
Trump tweeted about the vote shortly before the meeting began. He said the witnesses have already spent hours with Robert Mueller, and spent a fortune on lawyers in so doing.

If they show up, they should all answer, “My testimony is in the Mueller Report,” to every question.
This, in concert with the reckless media and midnight "comedians" (i.e. social commentators disguised as entertainment) shows how deep the deep state really is.
This is just eyewash for the stupid. Unfortunately, you can fool some of the people all of the time, as Abe noted.
Good thing they’ve solved all the other issues we had. I know I feel all better and stuff. Now, about that bridge.
Sessions is going to drop bombs folks.
The greatest AG in American history will tell how he was surveilled so he recused himself to start the ball rolling on the prosecutions.
I’m not sure about that. These subpoenas have nothing to do with the idiotic “Russian collusion” story.
Lol
THIS. You are exactly right ... and I hope they do it.
Gotta distract from the Democrat pedophile/Clinton sex scandal.
You mean they finally read it?
