Sen. Heinrich pushes for bill on carbon pollution fee (NM-Yeah,let's kill US energy)
The Albuquerque Journal ^ | July 10, 2019 | Theresa Davis

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich testified before the Senate on Monday about what he called the global “climate crisis,” advocating for carbon pollution pricing legislation to reduce harmful emissions.

Heinrich is a co-sponsor of the American Opportunity Carbon Fee Act, a bill that would charge coal, oil and natural gas companies a fee for every ton of carbon dioxide pollution they produce.

“Our climate crisis often feels too big, too complex, too hard to fix,” the New Mexico Democrat said. “However, the scientific fact is, we have created this problem, and we possess the creativity and the tools and the technology to fix it.”

The legislation was re-introduced in April and referred to the Senate Finance Committee. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., was the original bill sponsor, and Sens. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, and Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., are also co-sponsors. Schatz and Whitehouse also spoke about the bill on Monday.

Heinrich called the bill a “real and pragmatic solution” that would encourage companies to reduce their pollution.

The carbon pollution fee would start at $52 a ton and increase 6% each year.

The legislation would raise an estimated $2.3 trillion over 10 years. That money would be returned to states in the form of tax credits to help pay for a transition toward clean energy. Heinrich said the funds could also be used to train workers for new clean-energy jobs.

“A new generation of young leaders in my home state of New Mexico and all around the world recognize that the climate crisis is not just urgent; it’s literally existential,” Heinrich said Monday on the Senate floor. “These young students and activists are demanding that their elected leaders get to work on implementing solutions to limit its devastating impacts.”

To become semi believeable , these rich and elite liberals politicians should have to give away any vehicles they have.

Then, only walk or ride a bike from now on. No evil Uber or cabs can be used.

No more plane rides, only Greyhound or Amtrak can be used, with a limit of 150 miles per year.

They must turn off the electricity to their homes/offices and the gas needed to heat their homes and offices.

If they build and pay for solar power, they can only use their own electricity produced at that time and no evil batteries for night time or rainy/winter/no sun day use.

Responding cops, firemen and EMTs must use horse drawn vehicles to respond to help these rectums. Of course the cops can’t have firearms. Liberal hospitals can’t have electricity nor gas for heat. They can only provide a single blanket if needed. During hot summer only windows can be opened and only hand powered fans can be used.

Of course, they would have to give up their Apple phones/I pads and I Macs since those were made with evil carbon power.

They could only use old plugin phones to plug into land line phone sockets. We can salvage the old Princess phones for them. No evil cell phones and towers will be allowed.

Their staff members have to live with the above rules.

Then, they can only eat what they raise or what they can steal from their neighbors.

When the above happens to all of them in Congress and our state capitols, we might listen to them if they keep doing the above for one term with a one term limit.

The rats backed themselves into a corner. If they say pollution, blue states that still create pollution from their manufacturing practices will be impacted.

However, if they say it is climate change, they are stuck due to their wrongful belief that CO2 is the cause of the problem.

Best thing for Trump to do is announce that the department of the interior is going to work on a forestation and land management plan to eliminate old growth trees which causes forest fires, and planting (pick a number) trees to better capture CO2.

The biggest cause of increased carbon emissions is population growth. But no one will touch that issue. There is no money in it. They are looking for cash flows that can be skimmed.
Carbon tax is perfect.

Heinrich needs to be worked over until he gets his head straight. Consumers are having difficulty enough without paying extra taxes that solve non-existent problems. He needs to face an office full of angry citizens/taxpayers instead of lobbyists seeking to feather their own nests.

Carbon tax is perfect.

It's a penalty on the poor. It's a regressive tax, hitting women and children hardest. It makes it more difficult for the poor to climb out. The simple luxuries they have: they gotta go.

In the case of CO2, the elites have created a non-existent problem that can only be solved by us non-elites turning over more of our freedom and treasure.

NASA Declares Carbon Dioxide Is Greening The Earth

In direct contradiction to the scare stories about carbon dioxide being relentlessly pushed by the climate change alarmists, a scientific study published in Nature Climate Change and highlighted by NASA reveals that rising carbon dioxide levels are having a tremendously positive impact on the re-greening of planet Earth over the last three decades, with some regions experiencing over a 50% increase in plant life. The study, entitled, “Greening of the Earth and its drivers,” used satellite data to track and map the expansion of green plant growth across the globe from 1982 – 2015. Published in 2016, this study found that rising atmospheric carbon...

Wouldn't do any good - from the "Daily Caller":

Democratic New Mexico senator worked closely with convicted eco-terrorist

Democratic New Mexico Sen. Martin Heinrich founded an environmentalist group with a convicted eco-terrorist in the 1990s.

Prior to his political career, Heinrich c0-founded and chaired the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance. David Foreman, a convicted criminal and founder of the radical environmental “warrior society” Earth First!, was among the other co-founders of the group. He also sat on the board during Heinrich’s tenure as chairman.

Foreman pled guilty to conspiring to sabotage a nuclear power plant and has openly advocated for monkey-wrenching and other forms of “environmental espionage,” according to documents.

I did an economic analysis project for Governor Anaya. I got along with him OK; He seemed to be pretty sincere about improving the state’s economy.
