Jeffrey Epstein’s Sick Story Played Out for Years in Plain Sight ('belonged to intelligence')
Daily Beast ^ | Updated 07.09.19 7:55AM ET | Vicky Ward

A couple of years ago, I was interviewing a former senior White House official when the name Jeffrey Epstein came up.

Unaware of my personal history with Epstein, this person assured me that the New York financier was no serious harm to anyone. He was a good guy. A charming guy. Useful, too. He knew a lot of rich Arabs, including the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, and, further, he had clever ideas about creating bond issues for them. “OK, so he has a girl problem,” this person threw on, almost as an afterthought.

Epstein’s name, I was told, had been raised by the Trump transition team when Alexander Acosta, the former U.S. attorney in Miami who’d infamously cut Epstein a non-prosecution plea deal back in 2008, was being interviewed for the job of labor secretary. The plea deal put a hard stop to a separate federal investigation of alleged sex crimes with minors and trafficking.

“Is the Epstein case going to cause a problem [for confirmation hearings]?” Acosta had been asked. Acosta had explained, breezily, apparently, that back in the day he’d had just one meeting on the Epstein case. He’d cut the non-prosecution deal with one of Epstein’s attorneys because he had “been told” to back off, that Epstein was above his pay grade. “I was told Epstein ‘belonged to intelligence’ and to leave it alone,” he told his interviewers in the Trump transition, who evidently thought that was a sufficient answer and went ahead and hired Acosta. (The Labor Department had no comment when asked about this.)

Interesting article from probably the one journalists that has followed this story the longest. "belonged to intelligence" huh.. Interesting when combined with the documents describing him as an FBI informer under Mueller as well as both Mossad and CIA connections in his background... Though it was worth sharing. Thoughts?

Also, an intriguing article from medium.com about our society in general and the Epstein case in particular speculating about an intelligence connection...

The Fealty Panopticon

Governments, regardless of type, tend to default to a feudal power structure. The operational differences among types of governments are the methods for aggregating power and the optics, not the objective.

moral of the story - if you have friends in the right places, especially dem/fed/gov, you can get away with anything but we already know that, right Hillary?

Ghislaine Maxwell is the daughter of Robert Maxwell, who received what amounted to a state funeral in Isreal, presumably for services rendered.

There is one howler in the article, when the writer says that Ben Sasse “joined with his Democratic colleagues” in demanding the Epstein case be re-opened. Ummm...don’t seem to remember any Democrats being interested in Jeffrey and his pedophile ring when it was revealed that Slick Willie took 27 trips on Epstein’s jet to his private island, sans his secret service detail.

On the other hand, the media is going overboard on Trump’s quote about Epstein being a “great guy” (from 2002), well before his original indictment. They also fail to note that Epstein was permanently banned from Mar-a-Lago after his first indictment. By comparison, no members of the MSM seem very interested on when Slick took all those flights on the Lolita Express, and how that timeline compares to Epstein’s original indictment on state charges in Florida.

And strangely enough...

William Barr’s father, Donald Barr gave Epstein his first jobb as a school teacher...

Donald worked for the CIA precursor, OSS - whilst William of course worked for the CIA itself...

Then Comey’s daughter apparently being on the prosecution team. Odd how all these same names show up all the time...

On a recent Conservative Treehouse thread, someone posted an interview with Vicky Ward (with Amy Goodman of Democracy Now! — the source has to be taken with much caution). Besides the mandatory “guilt by implied association” evocation of Trump’s name, the interview had very interesting claims about Epstein that left me to conclude his wealth derived not from legit hedge fund operation, but from operating a giant honey trap, baited with underaged sex slaves. Separate reports claim that the FBI found in a safe at Epstein’s, CD-ROMs with lots of pics depicting the girls and guys. If such really exists, it might be where Pelosi’s daughter’s got the idea that many “faves” are involved.

An astute commenter noted that this would only mean that Epstein’s blackmail stash is now the FBI’s blackmail stash. If some of the so far unproved claims pan out, this is a mega-scandal,

It makes sense that he would be working for the Deep State.
You can't Blackmail someone that you don't have dirt on and Epstein was collecting dirt on lots of high profile people.

If Acosta really said that, then he is a fool. Whatever the reason when he put his name to the bottom line of the agreement to let Epstein go, he owned it. He did the bidding and effectively shielded the corrupt Obama Justice Department. The visual of Acosta in Trump’s cabinet have given the MSM propagandists a whole new line of attack. Trump is always the target.

A lot of people think this was a sting on the rich and powerful.

Various opinions as to who was behind it.

Some think it was Epstein’s way to become rich.

Others think it was a Mossad/Israel operation. Maxwell involvement would be further evidence of that.

I don’t know what to think other than he clearly had powerful friends and he likely had blackmail material on many.

First of all, don’t assume that all of Epstein’s “friends” (and customers) are Democrats; they aren’t. Ever wondered why supposedly conservative, “dependable votes” in Congress sometimes completely contradict their public positions on certain issues? Menendez ain’t the only sick bastard in the US Senate.

Ever read anything about FBI Agent Ted Gunderson, former SAC of the Memphis and Dallas offices and ADIC of the Los Angeles Division? I met Ted after he retired from the FBI, but he was a crusader against human trafficking, child prostitution and other really sick s**t. We had some common interests and I was introduced to him by an agent who worked the Jon Benet Ramsey case. One of the investigations Ted opened targeted a child prostitution ring that traveled around the country and serviced members of Congress and senior government officials.

Pseudo-publicly, he was often referred to as a nut job, particularly by people in the government who had reason to hate and fear him. Privately, particularly among the agents that knew him and worked for him, he was the “real deal” and was “scaring the s**t out of a lot of powerful people”.

Wonder if leftist and media are putting mostly lies out with a touch of the truth. Just like Russian collusion, so many believed. Funny how top stories are no longer democrat Russian collusion. Barr needs to do is job now. Hopefully he is and will do his job ethically. This whole thing makes me sick.

Dead on brother! How do you suppose morons like Eric Swalwell and so many others manage to raise millions for their congressional campaigns? Moreover, how do you suppose their paymasters keep them in line once they’re in office?

I’m convinced that the mass exodus of Republican members of Congress prior to the last election has something to do with this and other types of corruption, but I haven’t nailed it down yet.

zerohedge has an article where someone on twitter listed the steps to the plan. It makes sense. Deposits to his hedgefund were payoffs.

There is also drone footage of the island on twitter.

Do you have any comment on Epstein’s ties to the intelligence community?

This is an article written without citing sources and based on liberal rumors. Not a thing about what Acosta said has been confirmed. I would not believe anything from the DB.
