If it wasnt for Frederick Douglass, Colin Crapernick would have his wish and be living in Africa right now. Lincoln wanted to send the freed slaves back, Douglass met with him and asked him not to, so he didnt.

One of the things Ive noticed is that over the years we have heard less and less about Frederick Douglass as one of the iconic black figures in American history. You hardly ever hear his name even during Black History Month.
The reason for this is obvious. His life story was a remarkable one of a great, self-made man ... which makes him an embarrassment to the stunted misfits who are held up as black leaders in the U.S. today.
