Tucker Carlson discussed Kim Jong Un's health with a medical contributor tonight after the Fox News host — who traveled with President Donald Trump to the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) this weekend — noticed that the North Korean leader was "breathing heavily and sweating after walking just a few yards."
During a segment on Tucker Carlson Live Monday, the host asked medical contributor, Dr. Marc Siegel, to weigh in on whether Kim's behavior at his meeting with Trump on Sunday "suggest serious health concerns that would affect, in the coming years, international diplomacy."
"We noticed at the DMZ meeting, cause it was impossible not to notice, that Kim Jong Un was breathing heavily and sweating after walking just a few yards," Carlson said. "It was clear, we were just a couple of feet away from King Jong Un, that he was winded, like he was breathing through a straw almost, after walking probably 25 yards. Why?"
"The first thing I think of is something called obesity hypoventilation syndrome, which is a fancy word for someone who is obese and can't get enough air into their lungs and has a thick neck with fat in the neck that suppresses breathing," Siegel said. "You breathe very rapidly, and you take shallow breaths, and you may have sleep apnea at night as well, which is another health condition."
Siegel noted that Kim is also a "heavy smoker," a habit that "can interfere with lungs."
"If he's audibly wheezing, that implies either asthma or emphysema," he continued, before then speculating that Kim "travels with a portable toilet" because he doesn't want foreign governments to "analyze what he's taking."
"Is he on medication for his breathing problems? Could he be on steroids? Could he be on inhalers?

“The conditions I talked about all lead to fatigue and problems with sleeping and need for special machinery in sleeping. The smoking on top of the obesity and thick neck will lead to major health issues.”
“I’m hardly a physician, but it was very, very, very, noticeable,” Carslon concluded.
Tucker’s speculation here is irresponsible and not helpful with the U.S. relationship with the NK aimed at denuclearizing the NK peninsula.
He asked a doctor to “weigh in” on the heavyset Kim’s condition?? Interesting word choice.....
There’s probably no one around him who will say: “No, you can’t have another Twinkie.”
I don’t think it was appropriate.
We need to deal with him as he is.
Discussing his health or illness on TV is not helpful.
I’m not sure how appropriate or even how helpful it is for Tucker to focus on Kim’s health. I have wondered why he’s doing this? My conclusion; Maybe Tucker and the current administration want to get the attention of Kim’s Generals.
If Kim’s military begins to wonder about his health status, they just may start to consider a coup of some sort.
Kim is well known to be brutal in his treatment of military officials or diplomats who have somehow disappointed him.
They may think it’s time to turn the tables and give a weakened Kim the same brutal treatment.
I don’t watch Fox News but I was under the impression that Tucker Carlson was supportive of President Trump.
Guess not.
Why does this remind me of getting psychiatrists who have never examined Trump to diagnose him?

It was an odd segment, but Tucker is an independent commentator so more power to him. I had no problem with it as a topic, but it was pretty speculative and I did not think it was worth having a guest on as Tucker’s own observations made in close proximity made the point. The speculation of the doctor segment might have been better spent with another guest.
Tucker has been covering the human tragedy of North Korea for years even when it was largely ignored in other outlets. The fact that the only obese people in the entire nation are members of the regime speaks volumes.
Tucker sounded strangely ‘gossipy’ when he spoke about Kim’s appearance. I found it rather odd.

It was “gossipy”, but I watched the video closely and Kim did not look very healthy. No surprise though and I am not sure he looked any worse than he has in previous appearances.
As a human being, I think we all want change in North Korea. It is a truly horrific place and the horrific condition of the populace is a stain on humanity.
With that being said, it was news and while the segment was odd and not particularly helpful to Trump’s efforts towards peace that is not Tucker’s job. I wonder how much coverage that segment received in South Korea?
Perhaps Tucker is attempting to ease the way for Kim to visit the US in order to get “the only medical care fit for the supreme leader”?
