Russian Oligarch's Story Could Spell Trouble for Team Mueller
TheHill.com ^ | 7/2/2019 | John Solomon

Sometimes it is the quiet, elusive ones who come back to haunt you. And for ex-special prosecutor Robert Mueller, one of those might be a Russian billionaire named Oleg Deripaska.

The oligarch who once controlled Russia’s largest aluminum empire has been an international man of intrigue in the now-completed and disproven Trump collusion investigation.

Deripaska was a disaffected former business client of Donald Trump’s fallen campaign chairman Paul Manafort. He also was a legal research client of Trump-hating, Clinton-aiding British spy Christopher Steele. In his spare time, he was an occasional friendly cooperator with the FBI and its fired deputy director, Andrew McCabe.

Didn't see this in a search . . an interesting interview and I hope one of the Republican questioners asks Mueller a Yes or No on whether the FBI asked Deripaska to pay upfront for Levinson's release.

And if they knowingly kept this information from the Manafort lawyers. Looks like a potential black eye coming. Maybe this is why Mueller didn't want to testify.

I heard Greg Jarret mention a couple days ago that it has been a known fact since Day #1 that Mueller discussed the Comey firing with Trump at their meeting. Which means he was a WITNESS in his own investigation. Which is illegal and he was required by law to recuse himself before ever accepting the job. This is the question that blows the entire scandal wide open and also is the reason Mueller will never be appearing. Nadler may talk about it but he will never swear him in.

Steele, Fusion, Podesta, Clintons, all on Russian payrolls.

The only one not taking money from Russia was Trump.

If Russia was involved in the presidential election Hillary would have won.

Russia/Putin did a lot to help Hillary. That alone should be enough to keep them on the enemy list.

Maybe they did not fully understand the differences between popular vote and the Electoral College as well as the Trump Team.

Mueller also used fake information from the Ukraine to indict Manafort.

Doubtful. Unless one presumes these Republican questioners actually wish to expose the truth and find out what went on.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if Mueller and his team were convicted of crimes in the their zealotry to frame Trump? I would love to see them in prison for a long time. On the other hand, I would not be unhappy if they were all struck by lightning.

One of many reasons he prefers to control the narrative away from the full truth.

Mueller, Comey, Wray, all cut from the same sort of cloth. Arrogant and dishonest.

There is no "recusal law." Recusal is an ethical or policy decision. The point of recusal is to maintain the fiction of impartiality.

Take a poll of how much of the population thinks Mueller was impartial. Mueller participated in an institutional failure. DOJ and SC used for political purposes. Meh, I've come to the conclusion that this is normal conduct by the government.

Is Deripaska a word in the article title? No. That's why your search didn't work.

And it’s mattered exactly HOW, so far? Every. Single. One. still walking free; even w/ Comey *admitting* to crimes in from of Congress; Cankles *admitting* to destruction of materials under subpoena, etc.

Our Banana Republic is a lawless joke

You pre-suppose that some Republican on the Judiciary Committee will actually have the stones to ask a question like this.

That (Gestapo) Mueller was conflicted, even complicit, is beyond question. But no one calls the SOB out on it because he’s on the the Deep State’s Primes - untouchable. Just ask the 4 guys that he locked away in prison (2 of whom died there) on murder charges when he KNEW that they were innocent (and the US government - that’s us - had to pay $100 million to them or their families in compensation for what (Gestapo) Mueller (and his stooge, Weissman) did.

I don’t wish this on many people at all, but I hope for (Gestapo) Mueller to have a long and painful terminal illness - starting soon. Phuck him, he is the best example of what is wrong with our government.
