If the Democrats no longer have the votes to pass the climate bill, maybe the Republican walkout has worked. But are they just saying that to get the GOP to return, when the Democrats will try to push the bill through?

My fear is that this isnt just about climate change, said Summer Dean, 22, a recent graduate from Portland State University, who had been lobbying for the bill for three years. This is about a fault in our democracy that could spread in other states as well. Thank the WISCONSIN DEMOCRATS, who discovered the "fault" in 2011.

The residents of Oregon east of the Cascades should begin the necessary steps to separate from Oregon and merge into Idaho. Eastern Washington should do the same thing.

I’m torn on this. On the one hand, I want the measure to pass. Let Oregon screw itself. Maybe affected industries will move here. Then The People will see what the politicians have done to them and vote them out.
And then I don’t have another hand.
My ultra-liberal friends in Oregon have gone quiet over this. Subarus don’t get great gas mileage.

Stopped reading mid-way through the first sentence: “Oregon accounts for a tiny slice 0.14 percent of global emissions. “. I’m fascinated how such a precise number was derived. Seems a bit made up to keep the dialog going. As they say, 72.47198376 percent of statistics are made up on the spot.

that’s exactly what the Pubs have said they are worried about ... they want some kind of deal in writing signed, sealed and delivered before they come back to finish the session ...
