That may contribute to it. I don't watch daytime television, but I understand that type of swill is peddled constantly.

Typical conversation:

"What makes you think he is a moderate?"

"Because (insert name of local media personality) introduced him."

Yeah, and Oprah introduced ObaMao, too. He was no moderate. Just someone who made stupid suburban women feel comfortable.
