You shouldn’t be surprised. In the hinterlands of Washington, Oregon, and here deep behind enemy lines in California there reside MILLIONS of people whose conservative bona dudes are as solid as anyone you’d care to mention. It’s just we’re vastly outnumbered by the drooling drones in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angleles, etc etc
Drop the President a line like that, asking him to come at least once to those states and hold a Tampa-like rally. The Democrats would panic and feel they'd have to spend money in those "safe" states. He might not win the state, but the benefit would be all those "abandoned" Conservatives might come out and vote in some down-ticket Republican to Congress.
