Personally, if I was born a Puerto Rican I would prefer territorial status. No taxes and all the benefits. Plus you can get Cubano cigars and the place is duty free. Who wouldn’t like that?
Remember when Washington DC did not have any Representatives but they were paying taxes and the inhabitants of Washington DC fought long and hard to get representation. I thought that was idiotic. If you are paying taxes and don’t have representation you should fight for no taxes because you do not have representation, instead if seeking representatives and still paying taxes. That’s absolutely nuts, backwards thinking, pretzel logic, and probably backed by political operatives.
