Thank you for the explanation. I didn’t realize that it involved a procedural matter. Is it legal to have the cops forcibly bring them in?

Good question. As public servants there is likely code dealing with dereliction of duty if willful I imagine. This governor likely had legal counsel.

Although we can understand why these state senators walked out, the tactic of walkout to deprive the legislature a quorum so as to stop all business is possibly seditious.

On the other hand, lack of a quorum can be viewed as a sort of filibuster and be rectified by voters putting enough legislators in office to guarantee a quorum.

To further complicate matters, the Fims attached an emergency rider to this. When it passes, it will not be subject to repeal by a referendum of the people.

Yes, she authorized it at the request of the Senate President for assistance. Everything is being done according to the constitution.

They only need to find and bring in two senators to make the quorum number.

Hopefully they are scattered to multiple states and not together.
