Surely we have capability to covertly exact retribution for this attack on our assets?
Perhaps a team of SEALs tasked to sink a couple of Iranian ships. Iran wants a conflict to regain support it has lost from its own citizens. The sanctions are biting them pretty hard and they can’t any longer use their oil wsca weapon.
Like cornered rats they are lashing out. We must extract pmt for the destruction of the drone but it must be done quietly.

Iran is goading us into military action because sanctions are killing them. They blew through the $ Obama gave them quickly (and spent it on terrorism and proxy wars) but inflation is about 40% and unemployment is about 45%.
There are weekly protests, usually in smaller towns and done in a coordinated but non-conventional way to limit crackdowns.
IMHO sanctions, arming and supporting protesters and covert operations aren’t just a good idea....they are happening NOW.
Once again, just my humble opinion.
