We wouldnt be involved in these stupid endless military campaigns if we left other people alone around the world.
We have been in a state of war with North Korea since the 1950s.
I don’t really care that Iran has been at war with us for 40 years.
I’m not looking for more Middle Eastern adventures.
I don’t want boots on the ground or ships in the water.
I do recognize that nuclear weapons are a big deal. I support continued economic sanctions. I might even (possibly) support an explicit US threat that a single nuclear test in Iran would lead to destruction of Tehran (possibly by a US nuclear weapon).
But anything we do, we should do from thousands of miles away. No more fun in the sand box, please.
I have held that position ever since OUR Embassy was occupied by Iranian “students.”
Corker led the entire Senate, except for Tom Cotton, in turning the Constitution on its head so the Kenyan from Indonesia could get his Iran “deal”.
Actually, I think there was an Iranian formal parliamentarian declaration - never rescinded. Hence the Iranian trade marked declaration: DTA.
But every one seems to just shove that aside as if its a forgettable bit of nonsense. I wonder what will be “forgettable” when the first Iranian nuke finds NYC, Rome, or Israel?
And Mexico has been at war with us since 1846. Their current invasion is going well for them as they now dictate policy and law in most of the Southwest.
So uh, when does John Bolton get upset about that?
As angry as that character is, boy, if we could get him going on the real issue, gee, things would get done fast!
Pure propaganda
That’s cute. islam declared war on the entire world 1600 years ago.
Firan. Send them back to the 7th century where they belong. Should have been done in January 1980. Would have saved the lives of thousands who died due to their terrorist acts.
If weak-kneed Jimmy Carter had not been president, we would have hit them then. We certainly should have hit them hard so as to preclude them from pulling that junk again.
Really, the CIA and Brits declared war on Iran 66 years ago when we launched a violent overthrow of their government. The worst of their society overthrew the nut-shocking Shah, and then turned on us as the correctly saw us as the people who installed him.
And now out actions in 1953 took a nation that is far more civilized than the Saudis ever dreamed of, and made it a bitter enemy. Operation Ajax was a fairly minor operation in a sense.
So what wars are we creating for America 2085 with the exponentially more stupid foreign policy of today?
Anyone whose timeline on Iran starts in 1979 is either ignorant or deceptive. Start the tale in 1953 or don’t waste our time.
