By nature, humans are tribal. Tribalism is the easiest way to organize people and mobilize them politically.
Until very recently, America was a multi-ethnic society with a dominant culture. That culture is breaking apart as we become more tribal, and we begin to think of ourselves in terms of tribal loyalties, as reinforced by political elites.
Multiculturalism is the great myth of our time. The cliché is, “Our strength is our diversity.” But is it? Military officers sent to Vietnam learned that the enemy’s strength was a homogeneous culture, language, and identity.
There is no real multicultural society on the planet that has not tumbled into barbarism or devolution. Whether Lebanon, which institutionalized multiculturalism in its constitution and exploded into ethnic warfare....
Switzerland is not a multicultural society. It has different language groups with one strong, unshakeable identity. The Swiss know who they are. Something we seem to be forgetting.

Minorities will support the idea of multiculturalism as long as it advances their own interests. Consequently, tribalism ironically finds its justification in multiculturalism. In the name of multiculturalism, Muslims want public schools closed on Muslim holidays and halal food in the school cafeterias.
Somehow the tribal aspirations of all cultures are legitimate, unless those tribes are white or Christian.

In the end, if we devolve into a multicultural society, we will have the same political instability as other multicultural societies. The mobilization of people by identity will create a society that's inherently not viable. It is what the left’s myopic obsession with phony multiculturalism and identity politics will bring.

Liberals believe in diversity only for the sake of diversity. They have the idea of the “melting pot” completely backwards. Different cultures are supposed to assimilate into a single one, not divide into different ones. That only leads to chaos.
This is exactly why you have foreign culture communities in the US taking over when their numbers are high enough to take over local Governance. Then theres a flight out of those areas by the locals......which is exactly what the foreign cultures want.
It’s what you have in common that pulls you together, not your differences.

News on TV this morning showed parents having a fist fight at a little league baseball game. They didn’t like the call a 13yo umpire made. Appeared to be a strong Mexican culture present.

... as it was meant to be, from the start.
Balkanization is a key term. Look what happened in the Balkans where there are ethnically-identical and linguistically -similar people, but the strong and conflicting cultural identities did them in.
A nation is like a house in a neighborhood. A neighborhood can have houses, each with families from different cultures, and people can get along because each household controls their own resources.
But imagine if now you force several of those families to live under the same roof, where they have to share those resources, and the inevitable conflicts when they cultures clash with each other. This is what multiculturalism does. That is why Nations are the most natural way to organize different cultures.
People look at the way after a disaster Japanese people line up orderly for food & blankets and say Japan is law abiding:
That’s wrong.
Now, it absolutely DOES look like they’re obeying the law —the law absolutely does get obeyed— but they’re not actually doing that, per se, and the distinction is critical.
They’re conforming to how they have been brought up, they’re calling upon all the very many things they have shared, growing up together.
They’re USING their sameness, drawing on the strength that it provides. The sense of community and civic participation is extremely high.
If the cops go away, if there are ZERO instruments of force by the authorities available, the machine keeps humming right along, little prodding required.
How many times have you heard Israelis say, “In very many ways outside of defense, the fact that almost all Israelis serve in the IDF benefits us. It serves as a source of contacts, it’s like a huge HR deparment, it stands as a common touchstone..”
And so we get back to America:
“E Pluribus Unum” had a very quaint ring to it —as long as we still had some UNUM. Now there’s too much pluribus there’s no unum.
In fact we’re ruled by a tiny class of well-educated, media-savvy people who are working very hard to smash what little sense of unity we had left.
They want to re-make America —the world, really— by getting rid of Western Civilization and making it impossible for us to reach out to one another and feel like a community.
They want us atomized, cut off from our past and from one another.
There are the true pollyannic liberals with their heads up their a$$es who truly believed the “give the world a coke” commercials.
There are malcontents, who know these policies are destructive but they truly want to see the world burn.
THEN, there are the elites who seem to have a vested interest in destroying the white countries. Or at least think they do.

I read an article by some liberal awhile back who claimed that the whole “melting pot” idea was wrong. Instead America should be a “tossed salad”. Everyone keeps their own ethnic identities, but are mixed together in one big, beautiful bowl.
I think he’s right. After all, “tossed salad” countries always do well. Take the USSR for instance. Or Yugoslavia. Or Israel/Palestine.
Oh, wait. Maybe this “tossed salad” idea isn’t so good after all.

Well thanks for that! A rare occurrence - wish more could see the “hidden”
The earliest group to endorse the slogan, "the melting pot", knew that full well.
Some advance the slogan, "diversity is our strength", which is the exact opposite and is more aligned with "divide and conquer".
The latter group relies in large part on political correctness to advance it themes, with a major boost from the education system and, unfortunately, we seem to be doing little in opposition.
"Melting Pot" is now considered a racist term.
