Who in their right mind, facing what they think is an imminent threat or illegal activity, would write to a newspaper columnist for time-sensitive advice?
If the father were this concerned about his daughter and his household safety, he'd either go to his church, go to his lawyer, or go to the police. Writing to an online advice columnist would be the last place to go.
