Christian baker happy for 'second chance' to fight in court over refusal to make gay wedding cake

An Oregon baker said Tuesday she's thrilled to have a "second chance" to fight in court over a $135,000 penalty for her shop's refusal to make a same-sex wedding cake.

The Supreme Court on Monday threw out a ruling against the bakers, Melissa and Aaron Klein, who refused to bake the cake citing their religious beliefs.

During the court's last term, justices ruled in favor of a Colorado baker in a similar situation, stating that a state body demonstrated improper hostility toward the baker's religion in finding that he violated a state anti-discrimination law.

On Monday, the Supreme Court sent the Klein case back down to a lower court "for further consideration in light of" their Colorado decision.

The shop, Sweetcakes by Melissa, was forced to close after they had to pay a $135,000 judgment to the lesbian couple for discriminating against them in 2013 in violation of a state public accommodations statute.

Appearing on "Fox & Friends" alongside her attorney, Melissa Klein said she was "really happy" when she heard the ruling, adding it represents a "second chance" to fight the penalty.

"It wasn't a very easy decision at all to make. We lost our business. It's been six years now and it's definitely taken a toll on our family," she told Ainsley Earhardt.

Klein said her husband has a job and she helps out by making custom wooden wall signs, often adorned with Bible verses.

Don't give the LGBT mafia any ideas, that business will be the next target.

They should ask other bakeries in their area if these gays ask them about a wedding cake...

I think these gays and lesbians go around and ask different shops until they find one who refuses, then they try to sue them...

The first amendment protects the freedom to peacefully assemble. In order to have a freedom, it is necessary to be able to execute that freedom in both the positive and the negative. For example, Freedom of Religon means that you are free to worship as you wish and the government can’t force you to worship something that you dont want to worship.

Freedom of Assembly is the same. You are free to both assemble for a purpose (say a Trump rally) and you are free to NOT assemble (say a Clinton rally) if you don’t want to. Conducting business is ONE of the reasons people assemble. It requires that both parties exercise their freedom (choice) to assemble. If either party does not wish to conduct business, they are free to not conduct business.

Private parties and individuals are free to not assemble if they do not want to. A private cake baker is free to accept WHOEVER they want as customers.

I have not read the decision but I do hope it had was not just based on the Colorado case. That fell too short in my opinion by leaving the religious freedom and speech aspects out of it. If memory serves it was about hostility towards the faith of the baker. So if it can be shown that there was no personal religious animosity towards the Kleins by Oregon kangaroo justice their decision would still stand. You can be sure that people are scrambling to make sure any records are devoid of such evidence.

The bakers have stored up a little treasure in heaven by being true to God at their own expense. The homos who persecute them have only stored up God’s wrath.

Can’t MDs be “forced” to perform executions? Moral issue for them?

If the state can compel a Christian businessman to support ceremonies that conflict with their religious beliefs, why can’t the state compel a doctor to perform acts that conflict with their beliefs?

Every business transaction is a contract.

Is there any other contract that is considered valid when it is coerced?

They think their tactics work and create “awareness” and other BS assumptions. They make me hate their f-ing guts when at one time I would pay them no mind and actually defend them from true homo-haters. Now I don’t care about them nor their stupid causes.

Forget the Supreme Court’s watered down reprimand to anti-Christian activist states on this issue.

If worthless Congress was doing its job to enforce 14th Amendment (14A) protections which expressly prohibit the states from abridging constitutionally enumerated protections, attacks on religious expression in relatively recent cases, then Christian business owners wouldn’t be burdened with such harassment.

From the 14th Amendment:

In fact, patriots who value their religious expression protection should consider that Acts 22:25-29 shows that Paul used his Roman citizenship to get out of a flogging.

All patriots in the nation need to come to the rescue of patriots who are being persecuted by misguided, activist state actors by doing the following.

Patriots need to elect a new patriot Congress in the 2020 elections that will not only promise to support PDJT’s vision for MAGA, but will also promise to do its 14A duty to make punitive laws to discourage state actors from abridging constitutionally enumerated protections.

Remember in November 2020!

MAGA!

WHY do you folks buy into their appropriation of the English Language?
A short explanation of the word “GAY” in my dictionary says it is a person, state of being, or condition of being HAPPY, MERRY, CARE FREE, etc.
You used the term “gays” twice in your response and the term lesbian once.
Have you ever met any HOMOSEXUALS or LESBIANS who were truly HAPPY people?
The ones I have met were either socially withdrawn or putting on a facade to get by in NORMAL society.
These are unhappy, bitter, self absorbed, angry, hostile people, in a word, they are not GAY, they are MISERABLE people and failures in any normal human society.
Call them what they are; QUEERS and LESBIANS.
If you let them appropriate the language and control the dialog, THEY CONTROL YOU!

Same here; they have driven any compassion or concern for their safety out of me.
I don’t shove my heterosexual life style in their faces, and I don’t want their homosexual life style shoved in mine.
With all of their shenanigans I have reached the point that I don’t care if they have pink triangles sewed on their clothing and they get shoved into an oven.
Horrible, I know, but this is where they have pushed me.
