While the business lobby and New York Democrats unite to give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens in the state, voters living upstate and in suburban neighborhoods are revolting against the plan.
The New York state Senate is expected to pass a measure, already passed by the state Assembly, giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens living across the state. The plan, supported by the open borders lobby and state Democrats, received the blessing of the state’s business lobby. Business Council of New York State President and CEO Heather C. Briccetti said in a statement:
We are supporting this bill because it sends a signal to Washington that comprehensive immigration reform is a necessary business issue, and because it’s the right and decent thing to do. It is an opportunity to support billions in annual economic activity, and state and local tax collections, driven by hardworking undocumented families around the state. This bill is also an opportunity to increase these New Yorker’s ability to support local employers and businesses.
New York’s suburbanites and upstate voters, though, reject giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. The latest Siena College poll revealed that a majority of all New York voters, 53 percent, oppose the plan.
Specifically, more than five-in-ten suburban voters oppose giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens and only 40 percent support the plan. Likewise, voters living in upstate New York oppose giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens by a majority of 62 percent, as well as nearly six-in-ten white voters in the state.

Being an American is beginning to mean nothing. If you area responsible person, it means you are simply a dupe and a tax donkey for the progressive nanny-state.
Upstate should secede and form its own state; otherwise it will always be just a colony of Manhattan, useful to provide money for the big city, but unable to have any input into state government.

NY liberals sure are thrilled to take upstate’s taxmoney, though. A lot of my family live rural south of Buffalo, and the taxes are insane — to support the losers in NYC.
NYC runs the state. If they ever lost Wall Street, the whole thing would completely collapse. The NY liberals saw to that. NY doesn’t have California weather or beaches to keep anybody here.

If these illegals are being allowed to have a drivers license will they be required to have liability insurance?
If they are,what happens if they refuse the coverage?
The legit licensed drivers will pay more for their insurance.
The liberal view of this issue, is that they will be safer drivers if licensed, and that they would be subject to the same requirements of getting insurance that the rest of us are subject to.
Whether such laws on insurance will be enforced is a different matter, but at least officially, the liberals tell us that illegal aliens will get car insurance, if only they have a driver’s license and are out of the shadows.
You raise a lot of legal issues that I was just musing on.
If an illegal alien gets a driver’s license in NY state, I’m assuming that it won’t ask their citizenship.
Now, I wonder if a citizen of NY state can sue an insurance company for SELLING insurance to an illegal alien because the chances of a guilty party showing up in a court over the criminal charges side of the accident is nil (I’ve been through this). This leaves the victim in the hard position of suing the insurance company per se and refer the victims to sue the state. No victim will ever win in this scenario.
Can an insurance company demand that any applicant fill out a citizenship status line on the form? If I were in the car insurance business, I would do that if only to protect my ass from a lawsuit by claiming that the applicant perpetrated a fraud on ME and then blame it on the State Govt who didn’t make that a statewide “MANDATORY” line and allowed the fraud to take place.
Now, if the illegal who caused the accident does show up in court, are they sworn in re their statements, and if they lie about their citizenship status, will they be charged with perjury by the judge/court and prosecuted, and then turned over to ICE?
Since the Dems are really hopped up on “lying”, you would think that they would flock to supporting this “sworn statement” about citizenship like bees to flowers. Not a fucking chance!
Non-Marxist cities and towns need to think outside “the insurance box”, “driver’s license box”, and the “sworn testimony box” to see what they can do to hold illegals in jail pending trial, demanding to see citizenship status papers, checking Social Security Numbers, addresses, and prosecuting “lying and perjured testimony”.
Then call ICE for a pick up. Screw the corrupt parts of NY that are led by Marxists (DeCommie, etc), Mafia types (Cuomo), Soros whores (States Attorney General), and millennial hemorrhoids.
Time to take control of your own homes and cities/towns, but do IT SMART!
If it wasn’t for financial industry/wall street, NYC would turn into Detroit.
