DAVIE, FLA. (WSVN) - Police have released new details surrounding a shootout in Davie on Friday that left two men dead.
Davie Police responded to the intersection of Flamingo Road and Southwest Eighth Street just before 2 p.m. and located a deceased man inside of a work truck.
Authorities identified the victim on Wednesday as 41-year-old retired U.S. Marine Keith Byrne.
A dark-colored BMW M5 sedan was the second car involved in the shooting. The passenger inside of the car, later identified as 22-year-old Andre Sinclair, suffered at least two gunshot wounds and was found lying in the street.
Fire rescue crews transported him to Broward Health Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police said Byrne had accidentally cut off the BMW before both cars approached a red light.
Byrne attempted to apologize to Sinclair’s girlfriend, who was driving the BMW, at the red light when Sinclair brandished a gun, according to police.
Sinclair was sitting in the passenger seat while his 19-month-old daughter sat in the back.
“At that point, the driver, Mr. Sinclair’s girlfriend, had grabbed him by the shirt, tried to prevent him from getting out of the vehicle,” said Davie Police Lt. Mark Leone. “He did get out armed with a gun and went towards the work truck.”
The two opened fire, and Byrne was shot. Byrne was pronounced dead at the scene.

As a Floridian, I am offended by your post. But, since we have freedom of speech, you are allowed to say what you want. Just remember that when you do so, there are people out there that you offend. And yes I am conservative and a Trump supporter.

Both held concealed carry permits. Not very good PR for concealed carry.

Andre doesn’t deserve any respect, because he hasn’t earned it from anyone, let alone a former Marine. Andre deserves one thing, and one thing only - jail time, and lots of it. There was no threat here, yet he pulled out a gun and started shooting. This is NOT justified in any way.
I really believe that the, “Florida man” schtick, while funny, is meant to disparage Floridians who have voted conservative in elections for some time. This applies to southerners generally; often depicted as slow, drawling red necks in the media.
Of course, Californians are all fruits and nuts and let’s not forget Massholes. We should try to keep in mind that ALL generalizations are untrue!)
