By erasing the Confederacy, they are erasing the grievance of the professional malcontents; young people today think slavery ended 2,000 years ago - 10 years after Washington crossed the Delaware /s
I live in Lake County. How was this handjob elected?
Did you vote in the last local election up there? If they do things in Lake County like they do them here in DuPage it was probably an off year and this jackwagon barely campaigned at all.
A few years back thenDuPage Forest Preserve District decided to go on a little eminent domain spree because they wanted square lines on the maps. More than a few folks were told their homes were being condemned and taken for a pittance of the actual values.
Fortunately some of them were folks of means who could afford competent counsel and fought back. That and a few Board members losing the following election put a halt to it.
They got very clever in Wayne and deeded over a one foot strip of their property to the town. Why? Because eminent domain cant be used against a unit of government. They stopped the idea of making Army Trail Road a four lane to meet the proposed bridge over the Fox River in South Elgin.
Local elections matter. Especially these little known positions. School Boards are particularly important.
Are you in for the Illinois Freeper meet?
Best,

Somebody tell this moron the war was to END slavery, not start it.......
Abraham Lincoln should have had his way regarding the slaves.
“...stupidity ...”
No, they’re not stupid at all. They know exactly what they’re doing, and they’re winning.
Because our side doesn’t give them the middle finger and defy every damn thing they push.
President Angelo Kyle said he would prefer to focus on environmental issues such as climate change.
Your citizens would prefer you focus on something that you don’t plan to use to tax the crap out of them!
Gee, imagine that.

If you consider 7.13% (borough) or 3.51% (postal zone) "sizeable"...

You sure they weren't all from the college there, Harrisburg, or York?

Oh for goodness sake.
If someone doesn’t like it, stay away.
I vote in every election...straight Repub. As you say, these lesser positions are important but it’s virtually impossible to assess candidates. With judges I just vote against retention to be sure.
With judges I just vote against retention to be sure.
Me too.

It always amazes me some Yankees who claim to be Conservative fail to see that. The PCers are coming for the Founding Fathers - many of whom were, yes, Southerners - next. It has already started with Jefferson.
You didnt really think they were going to stop with Confederate leaders and monuments did you?
On the contrary. I would say just about all the statements made by Southerners about the dangers of centralized power, big government, crony capitalism, runaway public debts, military adventurism abroad and increased oppression at home have proven to be correct.
I dug around a little on some government web sites. It appears that theres a parks/forest preserves board that is separate from the county, but is made up of the elected county commissioners, of which there are quite a number (21). Im not sure how this guy was chosen president for the parks/forest preserves board, would have to dig deeper to figure that out.
” the district president questioned the appropriateness of the annual commemoration that features the Confederate flag.”
If Kyle’s complaint is that “only 1 side of the story is being told,” then the logical response would be to add the other side. Fill in the gaps.
Strive to learn— and teach— more history. Not erase all of it.
But logic isn’t what these nitwits are known for.
