Must be more to story
I thought the same thing, that there had to be more to the story, but I can’t find anything one way or the other to refute the mother’s story. The Governor was barraged with emails to plead for his intervention, but he hasn’t commented to my knowledge.
You live there - have you heard anything about this? Other young couples are finally coming forward to tell similar stories of how they were sworn to secrecy or they would lose their baby forever. The Saad baby was put into foster care with an older couple who quickly put the baby into daycare. If you demonize the parents as terrorists and drug addicts in your official capacity as a STate worker, and a judge goes along with it despite no evidence, then how do you fight that? Lawyers have been worthless to this point to help this poor baby who needs her own parents.
Maybe not. Does anyone else remember the story of Justina Pelletier who Children’s Hospital in Boston kidnapped from her parents?
That's what I'm thinking.
Agreed. There were lawyers able to help civil forfeiture cases in Texas where towns targeted out of town drivers, pulled them over, accused them of drug smuggling, took any cash and said sign an affidavit you’re guilty and we won’t take the car and put you in prison.
And this case, if true, is worse.
A poor couple from out of town comes in to the emergency room, and the woman has an emergency C-section. If she suffered a personal injury from it, she’d have lawyers begging for her case. And she says they didn’t just force her to have a C-section but took her baby? There would be attorneys lining up for the malpractice and abuse of power, given that half the couple is not white.
I agree.
Yes, the story has an odor.
