Well....CCI Quiet .22LR won’t cycle the action on my Ruger MK III. Every brand of standard .22LR will cycle it just fine.

Illinois does this, technically. You need to present a FOID card when purchasing ammo, and that requires a background check, $10 fee, and a lot of paperwork. Actually, that’s all done online now, unless otherwise requested, in which case it takes a lot longer than 30 days.

And just how will they know someone buying ammo has an "illegal" firearm?

Well, every time some guy walks into a Dick's, and tries to buy a box of 20x110mmRB or 40x311mmR, it'll be a dead giveaway! When they get told "no" by the brain-dead Zillenial sales clerk, I'm absolutely sure a crime will have been prevented (or maybe committed?)...

;^)

I also have a Ruger MkIII but only use CCI’s Minimag in it. I was using the regular Remington .22 and it was problematic.

Yeah, their regular stuff is really dirty. I generally shoot their Golden Bullets. Reliable. and the most accurate bulk .22 I’ve found. CCI gets good marks for anything they make...lots of specialty stuff, and kudos for biting the bullet and building expanded production facilities. Are you still Down Under?

Try these sometime. If you ever think you might need a .22 for self defense, these are a good choice.

Would the pistol have been legal in Australia?

I was told to use nothing but CCI’s in my .22 pistols and rifles since the regular ones don’t have enough power to really throw the bolt back and you get stove-piped casings caught on the bolt.”

Nope. And if you have a .22 rifle there’s like a 22 page form you need to fill out to keep it; and good luck trying to find ammo for it.

I’m kinda leery of foreign ammo although my dad buys TulAmmo for his 556 Ruger. Seems okay.

BMrkd.

And for CA.

Attn: All California orders must be shipped to an FFL or AVL. We cannot ship to your residence.

I'm tempted to drop some empty Pmag 40rd. magazine sleeves and empty 5.56 ammo boxed like in a Mall or some place like that just to freak the Five-0's out. Maybe on the concourse at LAX or SFO ... sometimes I just feel evil LOL

Aguila is best 22 cal ammo you can get anywhere, bar none.

All there ammo is eley primed, the most consistent accuracy there is. It’s shoot match ammo for everything.

Aguila also makes the fastest most powerful 22 cal ammo in the world. 30 grain 22 LR 1800 fps.

I buy Aguila 22 cal ammo not because it’s cheap(it’s not), but because it is the best you can get.

It’s common out of a 500 round brick to have zero FTF.
