In response, the government issued a first-ever ”amnesty for explosives” in the fall of 2018, allowing people in possession of such weapons to hand them over to police with immunity.

Can anyone tell me how many people "in possession of such weapons" actually accepted this offer and handed them over to the police?

Any statistics whatsoever about the effectiveness of this measure - or on the origins / backgrounds of the people?

Regards,

My guess is if they did turn any in, it was just after they pulled the pin.
