I could imagine any of the theories discussed being valid, the actions make very little sense at a time when Iran is hosting a state visit, but then perhaps the mistake all of us make is to assume any rational basis for actions in that part of the world. Still, it seems a bit premature to accept that we have a valid pretext to attack Iran. Let’s see what if any real information emerges about this situation.
